The 3M 7010309607 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for aggressive material removal and surface finishing on metal workpieces. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive at a hard grade density of 6, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action across light deburring and edge-blending operations. The convolute construction bonds abrasive material into a layered wheel form, which maintains a relatively uniform cut rate as the wheel wears. Rated at a maximum of 6,000 RPM, it fits a range of powered backstands, die grinders, inline sanders, and centerless grinders used in fabrication and metalworking environments.
This wheel is suited for production and maintenance metalworking applications where burrs, sharp edges, and surface irregularities need to be removed efficiently. The 6 inch diameter and 1/2 inch face width make it a practical fit for both manual backstand setups and pressure assist configurations. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabrication shop personnel are the primary installers and operators. The coarse aluminum oxide construction handles ferrous and non-ferrous metals with equal effectiveness in moderate to high-volume throughput scenarios.
Designed for use with backstands, centerless grinders, die grinders, inline sanders, manual backstands, and pressure assist backstands that accept a 6 inch diameter wheel with a 1 inch center hole bore.
Installation and mounting should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety standards, including ANSI B7.1 guidelines for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or damage and verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the equipment completely before mounting or removing the wheel. Always use appropriate flanges and follow the equipment manufacturer torque guidance for arbor fasteners.
