The 3M 7010309529 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt built for demanding metalworking operations in industrial and fabrication environments. Constructed with an aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive grain bonded in resin and supported by a scrim-reinforced nonwoven open web, it delivers consistent surface conditioning across a wide range of detail tasks. At 60 inches long and 30 inches wide, this belt is sized for wide-belt machine applications. It is installed and operated by metalworking technicians, fabricators, and finishing specialists working on production lines or robotic processing cells.
This belt is suited for blending, corner blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and straightline-brushed finish work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The open web construction reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing extended run times without sacrificing finish consistency. Its conformability makes it effective for robotic processing applications where the abrasive must maintain contact with complex part geometries.
Designed for use on wide-belt surface conditioning machines that accept 60-inch by 30-inch abrasive belts. Suitable for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
Installation should be performed by qualified machine operators or maintenance technicians following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedures. Disengage and lock out the machine before removing or installing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tensioning per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and machine guards before each use and discontinue use if the belt shows signs of damage or separation.
