The 3M 7010309518 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for surface finishing, blending, and deburring across a range of metal and non-metal substrates. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, this non-woven abrasive belt resists stretching under load, making it well-suited for consistent, controlled finishing passes. The aluminum oxide mineral and resin bond work together across the open web construction to resist loading, extend service life, and maintain cutting action without aggressively marring the workpiece. Measuring 118 inches in length and 4 inches in width, it fits standard wide-belt and stroke-sander configurations common in metal fabrication shops and finishing operations.
This belt is used in surface conditioning sequences where the goal is blending, light stock removal, or preparing a surface for coating or polishing rather than heavy material removal. The springy non-woven nylon fiber structure conforms to the geometry of the workpiece, maintaining part shape integrity during finishing. It is appropriate for use on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and other metals, and can be applied in both automated and hand-guided belt finishing equipment. Fabricators, metal finishers, and skilled tradespeople working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or consumable for standard wide-belt and stroke-sander equipment accepting 118-inch by 4-inch non-woven surface conditioning belts.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines for belt tracking and tensioning. Power down and lock out the belt finishing machine before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the contact wheel, platen, and belt guides for wear before installing a new belt. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA abrasive product safety standards during operation.
