The 3M 7010309505 is a Scotch-Brite unitized abrasive wheel designed for deburring and surface finishing on demanding alloys including stainless steel and titanium. At 3 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor bore, this wheel uses aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral in a layered, unitized construction that is softer and more conformable than higher-density convolute wheels. The result is consistent cut rate and finish quality on intricate shapes and tight contours without aggressive material removal. Metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians install this wheel on bench grinders, die grinders, and portable finishing equipment where precision and controlled conformability are required.
This wheel is suited for light deburring, blending, and finishing operations in both shop and field environments. Its small diameter and narrow profile make it the right choice when working in confined areas or on parts with complex geometry. The unitized format allows production of much smaller diameters and widths than convolute construction, supporting more precise finishing tasks on fabricated components, weldments, and machined parts.
Designed as a replacement or maintenance wheel for bench grinders, straight grinders, and portable finishing equipment accepting a 1/2 inch arbor and a 3 inch diameter wheel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworker or maintenance technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Disconnect and lock out power to the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel, and confirm the arbor bore size matches before mounting. Always run a newly installed wheel at operating speed with the guard in place for at least one minute before applying it to work.
