The 3M 7010309499 is a unitized abrasive wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and surface finishing on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Built with a soft, conformable construction, the wheel keeps abrasive contact consistent across irregular and complex part geometries. The abrasive material is silicon carbide in a fine grit grade, making it well suited for finishing and light deburring work rather than aggressive stock removal. Machinists, fabricators, and finishing technicians typically use this wheel on bench grinders or die grinders in production and job-shop environments. The unitized, layered structure holds its form through extended use while minimizing heat transfer to the workpiece.
This wheel is used in metal fabrication, light manufacturing, and composite finishing applications where a controlled, consistent surface finish is required. Installation and wheel mounting should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 standards. Verify the spindle speed rating of the grinder does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the wheel before mounting. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate a damaged wheel.
