The 3M 7010309462 is a coated abrasive disc designed for stock removal and surface finishing in trade and industrial applications. It uses a blend of 3M ceramic grain and aluminum oxide that self-sharpens during use, delivering a consistent cut-rate and extended disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide alone. The disc measures 3 inches in diameter and carries a 50-grit rating, suited to aggressive material removal with controlled surface conditioning. A heat-resistant resin bonds the abrasive to a heavy polyester backing rated for medium-pressure wet and dry use. Licensed tradespeople in metal fabrication, HVAC sheet metal work, and industrial maintenance will find this disc a reliable workhorse for both rough grinding and prep finishing.
This disc is well suited for grinding and finishing operations on heat-sensitive metals including stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. An integrated grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the contact zone, making it appropriate for materials that distort or discolor under excessive grinding temperatures. The polyester backing handles both wet and dry conditions consistently, broadening its use across shop and field environments. The Roloca attachment system allows fast, secure disc changes without tools, reducing downtime during high-volume work cycles.
Designed for use with Roloca-compatible backup pads and angle grinders or die grinders accepting 3-inch coated abrasive discs in wet or dry grinding and finishing applications.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel with the grinder powered off and disconnected from its power source. Inspect the backup pad and disc for damage before mounting. Ensure the Roloca attachment is fully seated before operating the tool. Follow applicable ANSI B11 and shop safety standards for abrasive wheel use, including proper RPM rating verification before operation.
