The 3M 7010309428 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt engineered for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications in metalworking and fabrication environments. It uses proprietary microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, producing a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish throughout the life of the belt. The cloth backing provides the flexibility needed to conform to contoured workpiece geometries. Licensed trade and industrial finishing technicians are the primary installers and operators of this product.
This belt is designed for use in robotic and automated belt grinding or finishing systems as well as manual applications requiring repeatable, fine surface finishes. It is well suited for pre-plate and pre-buff finishing operations on metal components where surface consistency is critical. The 148-inch length and 3-inch width make it appropriate for wide-platen and long-bed belt grinders or finishing machines commonly found in production metalworking shops. The aluminum oxide mineral and cloth construction handle intermediate stock removal and fine polishing stages without introducing deep or inconsistent scratch patterns.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines accepting a 148-inch by 3-inch abrasive belt, and suited for metalworking operations requiring intermediate finishing and fine polishing prior to plating or buffing.
Installation should be performed by qualified finishing or metalworking personnel following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedures. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before removing the worn belt and fitting the replacement. Verify belt tracking and tension per machine specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to use and never operate a damaged abrasive belt.
