The 3M 7010309416 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in industrial and fabrication applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide abrasive mineral is formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As each pyramid wears during use, fresh cutting edges are continuously exposed. The result is a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish across the full life of the belt. The cloth backing provides flexibility for contouring work. This belt measures 168 inches in length and 6 inches in width and weighs approximately 1.2 pounds.
This belt is suited for metal finishing operations that require controlled, repeatable surface preparation ahead of plating, buffing, or other final surface treatments. It performs in both manual and robotic grinding and finishing cells where finish consistency across high part volumes is critical. Typical applications include finishing stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous metals in manufacturing, fabrication, and surface treatment shops. The three-dimensional abrasive structure makes it particularly effective in automated systems where belt pressure and dwell time are tightly controlled.
Designed for use on belt grinders, finishing machines, and automated robotic finishing systems that accept belts measuring 168 inches in length and 6 inches in width. Verify machine belt capacity and contact pressure specifications before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinding or finishing machine before changing the belt. Confirm belt tracking alignment and tension after installation and before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and replace immediately if defects are found.
