The 3M 7010309411 is a Trizact 307EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal surfaces. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to a flexible rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down, fresh cutting edges are continuously exposed, producing a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish from the first pass to the last. At 118 inches long and 3 inches wide, this belt is sized for wide-belt and stroke-sander applications common in metalworking and fabrication shops.
This belt is suited for robotic and automated finishing lines where consistent, repeatable surface finish is critical, as well as manual stroke-sanding operations. It performs well on ferrous and non-ferrous metals ahead of plating, buffing, or polishing operations. The flexible rayon cloth backing conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it useful for aerospace, automotive, and precision-fabrication applications where surface geometry varies across the workpiece.
Designed for use on wide-belt sanders, stroke sanders, and automated finishing equipment accepting belts measuring 118 inches in length and 3 inches in width.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the sander manufacturer's belt-tracking and tensioning guidelines. Confirm the machine is de-energized and the belt drive is fully stopped before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the platen and contact drum for wear or debris before seating the belt to avoid premature abrasive failure. Always run the belt in the direction indicated by the arrow on the backing.
