The 3M 7010309410 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in metal fabrication and surface preparation applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into structured pyramids and bonded to an X weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down during use, fresh, sharp cutting edges are continuously exposed. This self-renewing action delivers a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish throughout the belt's service life. The result is more uniform surface quality compared to conventional electrostatically coated abrasive belts.
This belt measures 354 inches in length and 4 inches in width, making it suited for wide-format belt grinding and polishing machines used in industrial and manufacturing environments. It is commonly used prior to plating, buffing, or other surface finishing operations where a consistent scratch pattern and repeatable finish are required. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured workpiece geometry, making it a practical choice for both flat stock and complex profiles. It is also well suited for robotic grinding and automated finishing cells where abrasive life consistency is critical to process control.
Designed for use on belt grinding and polishing machines that accept 354 inch by 4 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in intermediate finishing and pre-plate polishing applications.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt machinery. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for proper seam orientation as indicated by the arrow marking on the backing before mounting.
