The 3M 7010309324 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for metalworking applications requiring controlled surface finishing. Built on a reinforced scrim backing with an open-web nonwoven construction and aluminum oxide grain bonded with resin, the belt measures 80 inches in length and 4 inches in width. It is engineered for use on powered belt sanders and robotic finishing systems where consistent, repeatable surface results are required. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical tradespeople as well as fabrication shops rely on this belt for stainless steel finishing, deburring, and blending work on pipe, sheet metal, and structural components.
This belt is suited for both straight-line and contour finishing tasks on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. Typical applications include blending weld seams, removing grind lines and mill marks, deburring cut edges, fine finishing flat surfaces, and setting grain patterns on finished metalwork. The open-web construction reduces loading and heat buildup, making it effective for extended runs on automated or semi-automated belt finishing equipment. Minimum order quantity is 10 belts per unit of measure.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and robotic finishing systems that accept 80-inch by 4-inch abrasive belts. Verify drive and idler roller width and belt tracking specifications on the finishing unit before installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt finishing equipment. Power down and lockout/tagout the finishing machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking direction against the arrow marked on the belt backing before tensioning. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
