The 3M 7010309104 is a ceramic grain abrasive cloth band designed for demanding grinding and stock-removal applications. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, it delivers the rigidity and durability needed for aggressive material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The ceramic abrasive grain is resin bonded for heat resistance, and an integrated grinding aid promotes cooler cutting to extend belt life and protect workpiece integrity. At 2 inches wide by 1 inch in length, this band fits standard contact-wheel and slack-section grinders commonly used in fabrication and finishing environments. Each band is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
This abrasive band is suited for metal fabrication shops, weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning tasks where heat buildup and premature wear are ongoing concerns. The 80-grit cut makes it appropriate for intermediate stock removal and surface preparation before finer finishing stages. It is commonly installed on portable and benchtop abrasive belt grinders and contact-wheel machines used by metalworkers, pipefitters, and fabrication tradespeople.
Designed as a replacement-style abrasive cloth band for standard 2-inch by 1-inch contact-wheel and bench grinder setups used in metal fabrication and finishing operations.
Abrasive cloth bands are installed by qualified metalworking tradespeople familiar with abrasive machinery operation. Before changing bands, power down and lock out the grinder per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Inspect the contact wheel and tracking mechanism for wear before installing a new band, and confirm the band arrow or grain direction aligns with wheel rotation as specified by the machine manufacturer. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during installation and operation.
