The 3M 7010309075 is a coated abrasive cloth belt designed for high-pressure grinding and finishing applications in industrial and fabrication environments. Built on a heavyweight polyester backing, this belt carries 3M Precision Shaped Grain that fractures along engineered lines to expose fresh cutting edges throughout the belt's life. The result is sustained stock removal rates and longer belt life compared to conventional abrasives. At 80 grit, it sits in the aggressive material-removal range, making it well suited to roughing operations on hard metals. Installation and operation are handled by machine operators and metal fabricators working with stationary or portable belt grinders.
This belt is configured at 120 inches in length and 6 inches in width, fitting wide-contact belt grinder setups common in heavy fabrication shops, weld prep lines, and aerospace component finishing. It performs on carbon steel, tool steels, nickel alloys, and titanium. A heat-resistant grinding aid extends usable life when working heat-sensitive materials such as high-nickel alloys and titanium, where thermal buildup would otherwise cause glazing or workpiece damage. The coated construction and polyester cloth backing maintain dimensional stability under sustained contact pressure.
Designed for use on carbon steel, nickel alloys, tool steels, and titanium in high-pressure belt grinding applications. Fits belt grinder machines that accept a 120-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by qualified machine operators following the grinder manufacturer's setup procedures. Always power down and lock out the belt grinder before changing belts. Verify belt tracking alignment before resuming operation. Appropriate PPE including eye protection, gloves, and hearing protection is required during grinding operations.
