The 3M 7010308714 is a straight cartridge roll abrasive designed for precision deburring, blending, and finishing in tight bores, slots, and contoured surfaces. It uses aluminum oxide grain on a cloth backing, rated at 320 grit for very fine material removal. At 1/4 inch diameter, it fits standard mandrels used in die grinders, air tools, and bench-mounted spindles. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, fabricators, and industrial maintenance techs rely on this style of abrasive for controlled surface prep where flat sheet abrasives cannot reach. The cloth backing provides conformability and durability under flex loads.
This cartridge roll is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metal finishing in industrial and manufacturing environments. Common applications include port work, weld blending inside tubing, bore refinishing, and deburring drilled holes. The 320 grit rating makes it appropriate for finishing passes rather than aggressive stock removal. It is used on handheld pneumatic or electric die grinders as well as flex-shaft machines wherever fine surface conditioning is required in confined geometry.
Designed as a standard straight cartridge roll for use with 1/4 inch mandrels on die grinders, air tools, and flex-shaft machines used in metal fabrication and machining applications.
Licensed trades and industrial machinists should mount the cartridge roll securely on a matched mandrel before operation, ensuring the roll is fully seated and the mandrel nut is tightened per tool manufacturer guidelines. Do not exceed the 24,000 RPM maximum speed rating. Always wear eye protection and appropriate PPE when operating rotary abrasives. Inspect the roll for damage, looseness, or uneven wear before each use and replace if deformation is present.
