The 3M 7010308700 is the Cubitron II 784F abrasive belt, designed for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal workpieces. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, a blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide, to deliver a faster and more consistent cut than conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. The waterproof YF-weight polyester backing handles both wet and dry applications, and a built-in grinding aid keeps surface temperatures in check on heat-sensitive alloys. This belt is installed on belt grinders and pressure-assisted or robotic abrasive systems by metalworking fabricators and finishing shops.
The 784F belt is built for medium-pressure grinding and blending on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including heat-sensitive alloys. Its moderately flexible backing conforms to both straight and contoured surfaces, making it useful for weld blending, surface prep, and stock removal. The waterproof construction allows use with coolants or in wet-process grinding stations. The durable resin bond resists heat-related deterioration, extending belt life and reducing changeout frequency in high-volume production environments.
Designed for use on belt grinders and robotic or pressure-assisted abrasive systems that accept a 132 inch by 2 inch abrasive belt configuration, suitable for grinding and blending all metals in industrial fabrication applications.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified metalworking or maintenance personnel with the grinding machine fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt seam and backing for damage prior to mounting. Always confirm the rated speed of the belt meets or exceeds the machine's maximum surface speed before use.
