The 3M 7010308699 is a Cubitron II 784F cloth abrasive belt engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, which combines proprietary shaped ceramic mineral with premium aluminum oxide to deliver a faster, more consistent cut and significantly longer service life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. At 132 inches long and 3 inches wide with a 36-grit rating, this belt suits high-stock-removal operations where heat control and cut consistency are critical. A durable resin bond and YF-weight polyester backing round out its construction for demanding industrial use.
This belt is designed for robotic, pressure-assisted, and manual belt grinding and blending applications on all metals, including heat-sensitive alloys. The waterproof YF-weight polyester backing provides moderate flexibility, making it suitable for both flat and contoured workpieces. Its grinding aid actively cools the abrasive zone during cutting, reducing thermal damage on sensitive materials. Fabricators, weld grinders, and metalworking shops running automated or hand-guided belt grinders will find this belt effective for blending welds, deburring, and stock removal in wet or dry conditions.
Designed for medium-pressure belt grinding and blending applications on all metals using standard belt grinders and robotic abrasive systems that accept 132-inch by 3-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the belt grinder manufacturer's guidelines and applicable ANSI abrasive safety standards. Power down and de-energize the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation, and confirm the machine's rated speed does not exceed the belt's maximum surface speed. Inspect the belt for damage before each use and replace immediately if tears, delamination, or splice separation are observed.
