The 3M 7010308277 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in demanding production environments. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into precise three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down during use, fresh, sharp cutting edges are continuously exposed. This self-regenerating action delivers a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish across the full life of the belt. The belt measures 254 inches in length and 6 inches in width. It is installed and used by metalworking professionals, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial grinding specialists.
This belt is suited for robotic and automated grinding applications as well as manual finishing operations on metal workpieces. Its flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it appropriate for finishing complex part geometries. Primary applications include intermediate finishing steps and fine polishing operations performed prior to electroplating or buffing. The three-dimensional abrasive structure produces finer surface finishes than conventional electrostatically coated abrasive belts, making it a reliable choice for tight surface-roughness requirements in production settings.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines that accept a 254-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt. Confirm machine belt-path length, contact wheel diameter, and platen dimensions before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified metalworking or grinding equipment operators. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing any abrasive belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt and machine combination.
