The 3M 7010308248 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester backing is built to handle high-pressure belt grinding, making it well suited for fabrication and finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. A durable resin bond resists heat deterioration to extend belt life, and an integrated grinding aid helps manage heat buildup when working stainless steel. Licensed trade fabricators and metal finishing professionals are the primary installers of this consumable.
This belt measures 60 inches in length and 1 inch in width, making it a standard fit for narrow belt grinders and file belt machines used in metal fabrication shops and maintenance facilities. It carries a P120 grit designation, placing it in the medium finishing range — appropriate for blending welds, deburring edges, and preparing surfaces before finer finishing steps. The belt can be run dry or with a lubricant, which extends its usable life on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel and titanium alloys.
Designed for use on narrow belt grinders and file belt machines that accept a 1 inch wide by 60 inch long abrasive belt. Suitable for stock removal and finishing on steel, stainless steel, and other metals where a P120 grit ceramic-aluminum oxide blend is appropriate.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Confirm belt grinder is fully de-energized and locked out before changing belts. Verify correct belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
