The 3M 7010308229 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive stock removal and fine surface finishing on metal substrates. Built on an X-weight cotton backing, this belt carries a ceramic aluminum oxide grain blend that cuts quickly and consistently across the full length of the belt. It is sized at 132 inches long by 2.5 inches wide and rated at 80 grit, placing it in the medium-to-coarse cut range. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, extending belt life and protecting heat-sensitive workpiece surfaces. This belt is commonly installed and used by metal fabricators, weld finishers, and industrial grinding technicians.
This belt is suited for stroke sanding and through-feed grinding applications on nickel alloys, stainless steel, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 80-grit ceramic grain is aggressive enough for weld blending and scale removal while still leaving a finish suitable for subsequent polishing steps. The 132-inch length fits wide-contact and stroke-sander configurations common in fabrication shops and industrial finishing lines. Minimum order quantity is 50 belts per unit of measure.
Designed as a replacement or production abrasive belt for stroke sanders and wide-contact grinders accepting a 132-inch by 2.5-inch belt in 80-grit ceramic aluminum oxide.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Disconnect and lock out power to the sander or grinder before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
