The 3M 7010302435 is a white polyethylene film tape featuring a 5.3 mil polyethylene backing bonded with a rubber-based adhesive. Sold as a single roll measuring 1 inch wide by 36 yards long, this tape is designed for masking, sealing, color coding, and surface protection tasks encountered in industrial and electronics service environments. The low sulfur and halogen content makes it appropriate for sensitive applications such as printed circuit board masking and electroplating processes. The conformable backing remains flexible down to -20 degrees F, allowing it to perform in cold-temperature storage and processing environments without losing adhesion or integrity.
This tape is used across a range of trade and industrial applications including general container sealing, electroplating masking, P.C. board masking, silicone chip holding, decorative marking, safety marking, and color coding. Its good solvent resistance makes it suitable for environments where chemical exposure is a factor during masking or holding operations. Electrical, electronics, and light industrial technicians are the primary installers and users of this product.
Designed for general industrial masking, electroplating, electronics assembly, container sealing, and color coding applications where a conformable, low-halogen polyethylene film tape is required.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of oils, dust, and loose particles for best adhesion. When used in electroplating or P.C. board masking, ensure all edges are firmly pressed down to prevent solution or flux migration under the tape. Remove tape promptly after the masking process is complete to avoid adhesive transfer. No special tools are required for application; standard tape dispensers or manual application are appropriate.
