The 3M 7010302051 is a double coated tape built around 3M Adhesive 300, a medium-firm acrylic adhesive engineered for bonding smooth, thin materials with low residual stress. A 0.5 mil PET film carrier sits between the two adhesive layers, adding dimensional stability and making the tape easier to handle during slitting and die-cutting operations. At 3.9 mil total thickness and 8 inches wide on a 36-yard roll, this tape is suited for production lamination, foam bonding, and gasket attachment. A 55 densified kraft liner at 3.2 mil provides clean, consistent release. Fabricators, assembly technicians, and industrial maintenance personnel are the primary users.
This tape is designed for bonding foams, gaskets, and both high-surface-energy (HSE) and low-surface-energy (LSE) plastics, including polyethylene. The quick-flowing adhesive delivers high initial tack, which speeds up lamination processes and reduces fixture time. It performs well in applications where the bonded materials are thin and flat with minimal peel stress. Typical use cases include foam-to-substrate bonding, plastic panel assembly, nameplate attachment, and light-duty industrial lamination where a transparent bond line is required.
Designed for bonding foams, gaskets, HSE plastics, and LSE plastics such as polyethylene. Suitable for smooth, thin substrates with low residual stress where a transparent double coated tape is required.
Surface preparation is critical before application: clean and dry the substrate to remove oils, dust, and contaminants that will reduce adhesion. Apply firm, even pressure across the full bond area to ensure full adhesive contact. In die-cutting or slitting operations, handle the roll by the edges to prevent contamination of the adhesive layers. Store unused portions in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight to maintain adhesive performance.
