The 3M 7010300824 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for controlled surface finishing without aggressive material removal. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, this non-woven abrasive belt is engineered for low-stretch applications where dimensional stability matters. At 60 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, it fits standard narrow-belt finishing machines used in fabrication and metalworking shops. The open-web nylon fiber construction resists loading, extending abrasive service life across multiple passes. Aluminum oxide (AO) mineral provides consistent cut and finish performance on a range of metal substrates.
This belt is suited for production and job-shop environments where operators need to blend, deburr, or finish surfaces without altering the geometry of the workpiece. It performs on stainless steel, brass, mild steel, and similar substrates. The moderate durability and flexibility of this belt make it a practical choice in multi-step finishing sequences where an intermediate conditioning step is required before final finishing. It is commonly used by metal fabricators, welders, and maintenance technicians working on tubing, flat stock, and formed components.
Designed for use on narrow-belt finishing and surface conditioning machines that accept a 60-inch by 1-1/2-inch belt configuration, across a variety of metal substrates including stainless steel and brass.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer's specifications before operating. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use and replace immediately if damage is found. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling and operating abrasive belts.
