The 3M 7010300780 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail work across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open-web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive bonded by resin onto a scrim backing, this belt delivers consistent surface conditioning results while resisting loading and heat build-up. At 18.93 inches long and 2 inches wide, it fits standard belt finishing machines used in fabrication and finishing shops. Licensed tradespeople and shop technicians rely on it for repeatable results on production runs and one-off detail jobs alike.
This belt is suited for both light-duty finishing and demanding surface prep tasks on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Typical applications include blending weld seams, cleaning mill scale, deburring cut edges, setting the grain on stainless steel, and achieving straight-line brushed finishes. Its conformable structure keeps the abrasive in contact with contoured and complex-shaped workpieces, making it effective in robotic processing cells as well as manual finishing operations. It is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use surface conditioning belt for standard 2-inch-wide belt finishing machines used in metal fabrication and finishing applications.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by qualified shop technicians following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before replacing the belt. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before mounting, and verify the belt is tracked correctly and tensioned to the machine specification before resuming operation. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
