The 3M 7010300661 is a Scotch-Brite CS-DC Clean and Strip Disc engineered for aggressive surface preparation in metalworking applications. Built from a non-woven silicon carbide web in an extra coarse (XCS) grade, it delivers sharp, fast cutting action for removing paint, rust, coatings, and corrosion without altering the geometry or profile of the base material. The disc measures 7 inches in diameter and weighs 0.25 pounds. Its load-resistant and heat-resistant construction supports prolonged operation with consistent results throughout the life of the disc. Licensed HVAC technicians, welders, fabricators, and maintenance professionals reach for this disc when surface prep speed and material protection both matter.
This disc is suited for paint prep, coating removal, corrosion stripping, and general surface conditioning on metal workpieces in both shop and field environments. The thin disc profile reaches into tight corners and confined areas where conventional grinding wheels or wire brushes cannot. The non-woven web construction provides greater surface area contact than wire brushes, making it effective for full-surface cleaning and smoothing on flat, curved, and contoured parts. It is sold individually and is compatible with angle grinders and disc tools accepting a 7-inch disc.
Designed for use with angle grinders and power tools that accept 7-inch non-woven clean and strip discs in standard metalworking, fabrication, and surface preparation applications.
Installation and mounting of abrasive discs should be performed by qualified personnel following the tool manufacturer's guidelines and applicable ANSI B11 safety standards for abrasive tools. Ensure the grinder is powered off and disconnected from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the tool. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during operation.
