The 3M 7010300657 is a coated abrasive cloth belt designed for high-demand stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester backing withstands high-pressure grinding and runs wet or dry, making it suitable for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the workpiece, which is critical when working with heat-sensitive alloys. Fabrication shops, weld grinding operations, and metal finishing lines are the primary users of this belt.
This belt is sized at 132 inches in length and 4 inches in width, placing it in the wide-format belt category used on floor-standing and industrial belt grinders and finishing machines. At 50 grit, it is suited for aggressive stock removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning where a coarser cut is needed before transitioning to finer finishing steps. It is sold per each unit and carries a minimum order quantity of 25 belts, making it a production-floor consumable rather than a one-off maintenance item.
Designed for use on industrial belt grinders and abrasive finishing machines that accept 132 inch by 4 inch coated abrasive belts. Suitable for dry or wet grinding of stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals in fabrication and metal finishing applications.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified personnel following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and de-energize the grinder or finishing machine completely before changing belts. Verify belt tracking alignment after installation and run the machine briefly at reduced load to confirm proper seating before returning to full-pressure operation. Appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves is required during belt changes and operation.
