The 3M 7010300212 is the Scotch 214 High Temperature Masking Tape, a crepe-paper-backed masking tape engineered for use on copper, silver, brass, and other treated metals. The synthetic rubber adhesive delivers moderate adhesion with high heat resistance, making it well suited for paint-bake cycles and other elevated-temperature applications. The heavy crepe paper backing is treated for stain resistance and tears cleanly by hand without requiring a dispenser or blade. Trade professionals rely on this tape where standard masking products would stain or tarnish sensitive metal surfaces.
This tape is intended for metalworking, HVAC fabrication, plumbing, and light industrial finishing environments where non-staining performance on copper and brass is a requirement. It performs in paint-bake and powder-coat masking scenarios where heat resistance is critical. At 1.25 inches wide and 60 yards long, a single roll covers a substantial run of pipe, fitting, or sheet-metal work without frequent re-loading.
Designed for use on copper, silver, brass, and other treated metals. Suitable for paint-bake masking applications and general high-temperature metalwork where a non-staining, heat-resistant masking tape is required.
Surface should be clean and free of oils or loose particles before tape is applied. Power down or de-energize any nearby electrical components before working in enclosed or confined metal assemblies. After the bake or heat cycle is complete, remove the tape while the substrate is still warm for cleanest release. Follow applicable shop safety and ventilation guidelines when working in paint or coating environments.
