The 3M 7010300198 is the 433L linered version of the 3M High Temperature Aluminum Foil Tape 433, designed for heat shielding and thermal management in demanding environments. It features a dead soft aluminum foil backing coated with a clear silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive. The silicone adhesive bonds reliably to a variety of surfaces and maintains adhesion at elevated temperatures where acrylic or rubber-based tapes commonly fail. Rated for limited exposure up to 600 degrees F (316 degrees C), this tape suits applications where thermal resistance and conformability are both required. It is thermally conductive, helping to dissipate heat away from temperature-sensitive components.
This tape is used in heat shielding applications including wrapping over and along thermal insulation on ductwork, pipe, and equipment. The dead soft aluminum foil backing conforms readily to curved and irregular surfaces, making installation practical in tight or contoured areas. It is flame resistant and meets the requirements of F.A.R. 25.853(a), making it appropriate for aerospace and high-temperature industrial environments as well as HVAC and mechanical insulation work. HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, and industrial insulation contractors are the primary installers.
Designed for heat shielding and thermal insulation wrapping applications on ductwork, pipe, and equipment surfaces where high-temperature adhesive tape is required.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians or industrial insulation contractors. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of oils or dust before applying the tape to achieve full adhesive bond. When wrapping thermal insulation, overlap each pass consistently to avoid gaps in coverage. No special tools are required beyond standard tape and cutting implements, though gloves are recommended when handling foil-backed tapes on sharp edges.
