The 3M 7010300085 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for grinding, blending, deburring, and finishing on metal surfaces. Built on a tough polyester backing, it uses aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded with a heat-resistant resin system. The result is a belt that holds up under sustained pressure, elevated heat, and wet or dry operating conditions. At 60 inches long and 9 inches wide with a P150 grit rating, it suits medium-stock-removal and surface-finishing work on flat and cylindrical metal workpieces. Licensed tradespeople and industrial fabricators install and run this belt in production grinding environments.
This belt is designed for metal fabrication applications including stainless steel coil finishing, sheet grinding, centerless grinding, and backstand operations. The P150 grit level places it in the medium-fine range, appropriate for blending weld seams, removing light mill scale, and preparing surfaces for final finishing. It performs reliably in both wet and dry setups, making it versatile across different shop configurations. The flexible polyester backing conforms to workpiece contours under moderate contact pressure, which is particularly useful in coil and sheet line applications where consistent surface texture across large areas is required.
Designed for use on belt grinders and backstand machines accepting a 60-inch by 9-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for grinding, blending, and finishing operations on all metals including stainless steel in both wet and dry setups.
Installation should be performed by qualified machine operators following the equipment manufacturer's belt-tensioning and tracking procedures. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the belt for tears, delamination, or splice damage before each use and replace immediately if defects are found. Do not exceed the maximum operating speed rating of the machine or the belt.
