The 3M 7010299903 is a Cubitron II Roloc Fibre Disc in the 982C series, engineered for medium to high pressure grinding on carbon steel. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, which maintains sharp ceramic grain points throughout the life of the disc. The result is faster stock removal with less applied pressure compared to conventional abrasive grain. At 3 inches in diameter and 80 grit, this disc is suited for tight-space weld grinding and deburring tasks where a standard 4.5-inch or larger disc will not fit. The stiff fiber backing and strong resin bond hold up under aggressive, high-pressure use. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators install it via the Roloc twist-on attachment system, making disc swaps fast between grit grades or applications.
This disc is intended for carbon steel grinding applications where heat control and disc longevity are priorities. The PSG geometry runs cooler than conventional abrasive, reducing metal discoloration, surface oxidation, and the risk of heat-related stress cracking in the base material. The 3-inch format fills a specific need in fabrication and structural steel work where access is limited, such as inside pipe joints, corner welds, and tight frame sections. It is sold in a minimum quantity of 200 discs per order, making it appropriate for shop or fleet purchasing rather than single-unit field replacement.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders that accept 3-inch twist-on disc holders. Intended for grinding on carbon steel in medium to high pressure applications.
Install and remove using the Roloc twist-on system — no tools required for disc changes. Ensure the backing pad is rated for the RPM of the grinder before mounting the disc. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before changing discs. Follow all applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.243 guidelines for portable abrasive wheel tools.
