The 3M 7010299896 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide to deliver faster cutting and longer service life than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breakdown, and the belt runs effectively both dry and with lubricant. At 40 grit, it is suited for aggressive material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, which is especially valuable when working stainless steel and other heat-sensitive alloys.
This belt is used in industrial and trade metalworking environments where consistent stock removal and extended belt life reduce downtime and changeover frequency. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and deburring on fabricated metal parts. The orange-colored 777F is well suited for use on stationary belt grinders and portable belt tools operating under sustained pressure. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shops processing high part volumes where belt longevity directly affects throughput.
Designed for use on stationary and portable belt grinding equipment that accepts an 18-inch by 3/4-inch abrasive belt configuration.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following equipment manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the grinder is fully powered down and unplugged before mounting or removing any abrasive belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and contact wheel or platen for wear or damage prior to each use.
