The 3M 7010298935 is an aluminum oxide cloth sanding belt designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and select woodworking applications. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, this belt handles heavy sanding and grinding without breaking down under pressure. The resin bond resists high heat and pressure, making it well suited for demanding production and maintenance environments. The 40-grit aluminum oxide mineral cuts aggressively and performs consistently across metal and wood substrates. At 60 inches long and 2 inches wide, it fits standard wide belt, edge, and portable belt sanders used by metalworking and woodworking trades.
This belt is suited for wide belt sanding machines, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders used in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and woodworking operations. The tube-shaped band design also fits onto a rubber expander wheel attachment for use with a die grinder or rotary drill, allowing it to reach inner and outer contours to remove parting lines, imperfections, and burrs. It is appropriate for both production and intermittent use on metal substrates including steel and aluminum, as well as wood surfaces requiring stock removal or surface preparation.
Designed for use with wide belt sanders, edge sanders, and portable belt sanding equipment that accept a 60-inch by 2-inch belt. Also fits rubber expander wheel attachments used with die grinders or rotary drills, sold separately.
Disconnect or power down the sanding machine before mounting or removing the belt. Ensure belt tracking is properly adjusted before operation to prevent edge wear or belt failure. Inspect the belt for tears or glazing before each use and replace when abrasive performance degrades. When used with a rubber expander wheel on a die grinder, confirm the wheel diameter and speed rating are compatible with the tool before running.
