The 3M 7010298901 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt built on X-weight cloth backing with aluminum oxide mineral formed into microstructured pyramids through 3M proprietary microreplication technology. As the abrasive surface wears during use, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed from within each pyramid structure, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable surface finish throughout the life of the belt. The cloth backing provides flexibility to conform to contoured workpiece surfaces. This belt measures 12 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width and is designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing operations prior to plating or buffing.
This belt is suited for metalworking applications including intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal components where a consistent, repeatable surface finish is required before downstream processes such as electroplating or buffing. The three-dimensional abrasive structure makes it well matched to automated and robotic grinding or finishing lines where consistent finish across a high part volume is critical. Manual bench grinder and handheld belt finishing tool applications are also appropriate. Typical users include metalworking shops, aerospace fabricators, and precision finishing operations.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines that accept a 12-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for metal workpieces requiring intermediate finishing or fine polishing prior to plating or buffing operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the belt grinder or finishing machine completely before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for damage or tears prior to each use and do not exceed the maximum speed rating of the belt or machine.
