The 3M 7010295172 is an adhesive transfer tape using 3M Adhesive 300, a high-strength acrylic formulated to bond across a wide range of high-surface-energy (HSE) and low-surface-energy (LSE) substrates. The tape carries a 2.0 mil adhesive layer on a 6.2 mil polycoated kraft paper liner, yielding a total tape thickness of 8.2 mil. That thin caliper makes it well suited to assemblies where stack height is a constraint. The 83-lb. liner delivers consistent handling, lay-flat performance, and clean release during application. Each roll is 1 inch wide and 60 yards long.
This transfer tape is used in light industrial and manufacturing assembly applications where a thin, high-tack bond is required between smooth or low-energy surfaces. Typical end markets include appliance manufacturing, consumer electronics assembly, and automotive interior trim attachment. It is also used in foam bonding and graphic arts mounting where the liner must release cleanly and the adhesive must transfer fully to the substrate. Installation is performed by fabricators, assembly technicians, and skilled tradespeople working with bonding and mounting operations.
Designed for bonding to smooth surfaces, foams, and low-surface-energy materials in appliance, electronics, and automotive assembly applications.
Transfer tapes of this type are applied by fabricators and assembly technicians, not typically by licensed trades. Clean and degrease the substrate before application to ensure full adhesive contact. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond line using a roller or squeegee to seat the adhesive. Remove the liner promptly after positioning to avoid contamination of the adhesive surface.
