The 3M 7010294943 is a 4-inch diameter unitized abrasive wheel built for heavy-duty edge deburring and surface finishing on metal. It uses aluminum oxide mineral bonded into a hard-density, open-web construction that resists loading and holds up through demanding passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum and stainless steel. The 3/8-inch arbor hole fits standard unitized wheel mandrels. This is an 800 Series wheel, offering harder material density and increased edge durability compared to 700 Series unitized wheels, making it suited to repetitive production work and high-contact finishing cycles.
This wheel is used in fabrication shops, welding operations, and metal finishing lines where consistent edge deburring and polishing are required. It handles both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, giving it flexibility across a range of bench grinders, right-angle tools, and production spindles. Typical applications include deburring cut or stamped metal edges, blending weld seams, and light surface conditioning on stainless steel and aluminum components. Installation requires a unitized wheel mandrel, sold separately.
Designed for use with standard unitized wheel mandrels (sold separately) compatible with 3/8-inch arbor center-hole wheels. Suitable for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals across bench and production tool setups.
A licensed or experienced metal fabrication technician should mount this wheel using the correct unitized wheel mandrel matched to the 3/8-inch arbor bore. Always power down and de-energize the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the wheel RPM rating before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and follow all applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and use.
