The 3M 7010294494 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded onto an X-weight cloth backing. As each pyramid wears, fresh cutting edges are continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable surface finish over the full life of the belt. At 24 inches long and 1/4 inch wide, this belt is suited for narrow-contact finishing on small-diameter workpieces, contoured parts, and precision components ahead of plating or buffing operations.
This belt is used in metalworking environments where surface finish consistency is critical. Typical applications include intermediate grinding and fine polishing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals before electroplating, anodizing, or buffing. The flexible X-weight cloth backing conforms to curved and contoured surfaces, making it effective for finishing complex geometry. The three-dimensional abrasive structure also performs reliably in automated and robotic finishing cells, where consistent stock removal and finish repeatability are required across high part volumes.
