The 3M 7010294484 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications in industrial and trade environments. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X weight cloth backing. Measuring 73 inches in length and 5 inches in width, the belt is built for wide-contact grinding and finishing operations. As the abrasive pyramids wear during use, fresh mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable surface finish throughout the life of the belt. Metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians install these belts on stationary and robotic belt grinding equipment.
This belt is suited for intermediate stock removal and fine polishing prior to plating or buffing operations on metal workpieces. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it well-suited for components with complex geometry. Its three-dimensional abrasive structure produces more consistent finishes than conventional electrostatically coated abrasives, which is especially important in automated or robotic finishing cells where repeatability is critical. It is appropriate for use in production shops, fabrication facilities, and any application where a controlled, fine surface finish is required before downstream coating or finishing processes.
Designed for use on stationary and robotic belt grinders and finishing machines that accept 73-inch by 5-inch abrasive belts. Suitable for metal finishing operations prior to plating or buffing.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or maintenance professional. Power down and lock out the belt grinder before removing the worn belt or installing a new one, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace immediately if defects are found.
