The 3M 7010292414 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing operations on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel measures 3 inches in diameter and mounts on a 3/8 inch arbor, making it compatible with standard bench grinders and rotary tools used in fabrication and finishing work. The aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral delivers consistent cutting action across the wheel face. Its soft, conformable construction keeps the abrasive in contact with irregular or complex part geometries, which is especially useful for edge work and profile finishing. Licensed metalworkers, fabricators, and surface finishing technicians are the primary users.
This unitized wheel is well suited for light to medium deburring, blending, and surface conditioning in both production shop and maintenance environments. The conformable density allows it to follow contoured surfaces without gouging or loading, which reduces rework on finished parts. It handles a range of substrates including ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys as well as many plastics and composites. The 3 inch diameter is commonly used in benchtop setups and handheld rotary applications where precision edge finishing is required.
Designed for use with standard bench grinders and rotary tools accepting a 3/8 inch arbor. Suitable for deburring, blending, and finishing of metal alloys, plastics, and composites in fabrication, maintenance, and robotic processing applications.
Mount the wheel on a compatible 3/8 inch arbor and verify the spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel or packaging before operation. Power down and lock out the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Ensure the arbor nut is properly tightened and flanges are seated flush against the wheel face. Operators should wear appropriate eye and face protection per ANSI Z87.1 standards during use.
