The 3M 7010292213 is a Trizact 307EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal and other surfaces. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to a flexible rayon backing. Measuring 15.5 inches in length and 3.5 inches in width, the belt fits standard narrow-belt finishing machines. As the pyramid structures wear, fresh, sharp abrasive mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable finish quality throughout the life of the belt. The belt weighs approximately 0.07 pounds per unit.
This belt is suited for robotic and automated finishing applications where consistent, repeatable results are required from part to part. It also performs well in manual belt finishing setups for pre-plate, pre-buff, and fine-polish operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The flexible rayon backing conforms to contoured and profiled workpiece surfaces, making it a practical choice for finishing complex geometry components in production environments. Machinists, metalworkers, and tool-and-die professionals working in manufacturing and fabrication settings are the typical end users.
Designed for use on standard narrow-belt finishing and polishing machines that accept belts measuring 15.5 inches in length and 3.5 inches in width. Verify machine contact wheel diameter and belt tracking specifications before installation.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified machine operator following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking alignment before resuming operation to prevent edge wear or belt failure. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear or damage that could affect belt seating and finish consistency.
