The 3M 7010290903 is an acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding dissimilar substrates in fabrication, assembly, and processing applications. At 2 mil thickness, it delivers a low-profile bond line suited for splicing film, foils, fabrics, and coated papers. The tape uses a high-tack 300-series acrylic adhesive that builds initial adhesion quickly, reducing fixture time. A 60 densified kraft liner adds dimensional stability for die-cutting, laminating, and roll-converting operations. It ships as a 0.25-inch-wide, 60-yard roll. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and general trade professionals handling insulation, gasket fabrication, or ductwork assembly will find this tape useful in light bonding applications.
This tape is well suited for bonding low surface energy plastics including polyethylene and polypropylene, as well as open-cell and closed-cell foams and gasket materials. The fiber-reinforced carrier improves conformability and ease of handling during application. It is a thinner alternative to 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape 950, making it appropriate where a reduced adhesive thickness profile is required without sacrificing bond strength on compatible substrates.
Designed for bonding dissimilar substrates including low surface energy plastics, foams, gaskets, films, foils, fabrics, and coated papers in fabrication and assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical for transfer tape adhesion — clean, dry, and degrease all surfaces before application. Apply firm pressure across the bond line to ensure full contact between the adhesive and substrate. Remove the liner cleanly and avoid stretching the adhesive during transfer. Store unused rolls away from heat and direct sunlight to preserve adhesive performance.
