The 3M 7010290213 is a 577F coated abrasive flap disc designed for high-pressure metalworking applications. It combines grinding and blending into a single step, reducing tool changes and saving time on the job. The disc uses alumina zirconia mineral paired with a grinding aid, delivering faster stock removal than aluminum oxide on all common metal types. Heavyweight polyester-backed flaps add durability for sustained cutting under load. The quick-change attachment system speeds up disc swaps between tasks. At 4.5 inches in diameter and 80 grit, it suits medium-to-coarse material removal work.
This flap disc is used in fabrication shops, welding operations, and metal finishing environments. Typical applications include weld removal, sharp-edge deburring, beveling, and surface blending on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 80 grit rating positions it for aggressive stock removal while still leaving a blended surface finish, making it appropriate for structural steel work, pipe fabrication, and heavy sheet metal tasks. It is sold individually and suited for use on standard right-angle grinders equipped with a compatible quick-change mounting system.
Designed for use on right-angle grinders with a compatible quick-change disc mounting system for 4.5 inch coated abrasive flap discs.
Mounting and removal should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's guidelines and applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before changing discs. Verify that the grinder's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc's rated speed before use. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use damaged or deformed flap discs.
