The 3M 7010029937 is a coated abrasive sanding disc designed for surface preparation, finishing, and stock removal in professional trade and production environments. Built on a durable film backing, it uses aluminum oxide grain and an open-coat, load-resistant construction to maintain cut rate and disc life across demanding applications. The disc measures 5 inches in diameter and runs at a maximum of 12,000 rpm. Attachment is via hook-and-loop fastening, allowing fast disc changes without hole alignment. The multi-hole pattern evacuates dust more efficiently than standard 5- or 6-hole designs, reducing clogging and keeping the work surface clear.
This disc is suited for residential and commercial finishing work, body repair, woodworking, and general surface preparation tasks where consistent material removal and a close-tolerance finish are required. The load-resistant coating extends usable disc life on resins, paints, and soft metals. At P500 grit, it is appropriate for fine finishing passes and surface blending. The hook-and-loop backing makes it compatible with random orbital and orbital sanders equipped with matching pad systems. Each disc is sold individually.
Designed for use with hook-and-loop random orbital and orbital sanding pads that accept 5-inch discs. No hole alignment with the pad is required due to the multi-hole evacuation pattern.
Installation of sanding discs should be performed with the sander powered off and unplugged or with the air supply disconnected on pneumatic tools. Verify that the sander pad and disc diameter match before attaching. Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of 12,000 rpm. Inspect the disc before each use and discard if the backing shows tears, delamination, or grain loading that reduces cut performance.
