The 3M 7000149219 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal workpieces prior to plating or buffing. It uses proprietary microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform pyramidal structures and bonded to a JE-weight rayon-blend cloth backing. As the pyramid tips wear, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, producing a consistent cut rate and predictable finish quality throughout the belt's service life. The belt measures 132 inches in length and 2 inches in width and is suited for light-pressure, high-cycle applications including robotic grinding and finishing lines.
This belt is engineered for metal finishing workflows where surface consistency and finish repeatability are critical before downstream operations such as electroplating, buffing, or coating. The flexible JE-weight cloth backing conforms to contoured and curved surfaces, making it effective on tubular, cylindrical, and irregular profiles. A built-in grinding aid helps manage heat generation at the contact zone, reducing the risk of heat-related workpiece warping or discoloration. It is used primarily by metal fabricators, finishing shops, and industrial maintenance operations running wide-belt or narrow-belt machines.

Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt machinery. Power down and lock out the belt machine before changing the belt.
