The 3M 7000148622 is a Diamond Grade conspicuity marking tape designed to increase the visibility of vehicles and emergency exits in low-light and nighttime conditions. Sold as a single roll measuring 1.75 inches wide by 150 feet long, this tape features highly reflective prismatic lens technology that returns light toward its source with exceptional brightness. A pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows direct application to flat or slightly curved surfaces, and a clear poly liner protects the adhesive until installation. The tape is intended for professional installation on school buses, emergency vehicles, and similar fleet applications where regulatory visibility markings are required.
This conspicuity tape is used to mark emergency exits, side perimeters, and rear perimeters of school buses in compliance with vehicle visibility standards. The yellow color designation and ES designation indicate emergency exit suitability. Fleet maintenance technicians, school district vehicle shops, and commercial vehicle service facilities are the primary installers. It is appropriate for both new vehicle builds and retroreflective marking upgrades on existing fleets.
Designed for application to emergency exits, side perimeters, and rear perimeters of school buses and similar commercial vehicles requiring conspicuity marking.
Surface preparation is critical before applying pressure-sensitive conspicuity tape — clean the substrate thoroughly to remove grease, wax, and loose paint for proper adhesion. Power down any electrical systems near the work area if cutting tools are in use. Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of the tape to seat the adhesive uniformly. Consult applicable FMVSS or state school bus body standards for placement and coverage requirements before beginning work.
