The 3M 7000148370 is an adhesive transfer tape using 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 200MP, a solvent-based acrylic widely used as the industry standard for graphic attachment and general industrial joining applications. The tape delivers exceptional peel and shear strength on metal substrates and high surface energy (HSE) plastics, resisting edge lifting and slippage under load. It is temporarily repositionable before final bonding, allowing accurate placement during assembly. The 58 lb polycoated kraft paper (PCK) liner supports splicing and laminating operations. This product is handled and installed by fabricators, sign shops, industrial assemblers, and maintenance technicians working in light manufacturing or finishing environments.
This tape is suited for bonding applications where long-term adhesion to metals and HSE plastics is required. The thicker adhesive construction improves wet-out on textured or uneven surfaces. Its resistance to humidity and thermal cycling makes it appropriate for both indoor and controlled outdoor assemblies. Common use cases include graphic mounting, panel lamination, nameplate attachment, and industrial joining where a clean, liner-free bond line is preferred over mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives.
Designed for bonding to metal substrates and high surface energy plastics. Well-suited for graphic attachment, panel lamination, nameplate bonding, and general industrial joining applications where a film-free adhesive transfer is required.
Surface preparation is critical — substrates should be clean, dry, and free of oils or contaminants before application. Apply firm, uniform pressure across the bond area to achieve full adhesive wet-out, particularly on textured surfaces. Once the final bond is set, the part should not be repositioned. Handle the liner carefully during splicing operations to avoid contaminating the adhesive surface.
