The 3M 7000148118 is a Cubitron II Roloc Fibre Disc in the 982C series, designed for medium to high pressure grinding applications on carbon steel. Built around 3M Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, the abrasive maintains sharp cutting points throughout the disc life, delivering fast stock removal with reduced operator pressure. The stiff fiber backing and strong resin bond construction give the disc durability and tear-resistance needed for demanding tasks such as weld grinding. At 2 inches in diameter and 36 grit, this disc is sized for work in tight or confined areas where a standard larger disc cannot reach.
This disc is suited for fabrication shops, structural steel work, and maintenance grinding where carbon steel is the primary workpiece material. The 36 grit coarseness makes it appropriate for aggressive material removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning in situations that call for a compact disc format. The Roloc quick-change attachment system allows fast disc swaps between grit grades or applications without additional tooling, reducing downtime during multi-step grinding workflows. Typical users include metal fabricators, welders, and maintenance technicians working with angle grinders or die grinders fitted with a Roloc-compatible mandrel.
Designed for use with angle grinders and die grinders fitted with a Roloc-compatible quick-change mandrel. Intended for grinding applications on carbon steel substrates.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder powered off and unplugged or air supply disconnected. Confirm the mandrel and tool RPM rating meet or exceed the disc RPM rating before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, fraying, or delamination. Follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety guidelines during use.
