The 3M 7000144554 is a PSA-backed diamond lapping film disc designed for precision surface finishing on extremely hard materials. Built on a stable polyester film substrate, precisely graded diamond abrasive particles deliver a consistent, repeatable finish pass after pass. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows fast disc changes on compatible backing plates, reducing downtime during high-throughput lapping operations. This disc measures 4 inches in diameter and is suited for applications requiring tight surface finish control across a broad range of micron grades from 0.10 to 30.0 micron.
This lapping disc is used in precision finishing operations across optics, ceramics, carbide tooling, and other extremely hard substrate applications. It is well suited for achieving flat surfaces with low edge rounding, making it a common choice in metrology labs, tool and die shops, and fiber optic connector finishing environments.
