The 3M 7000144139 is a Stikit Film Disc Roll in the 360L series, designed for fine-finish sanding applications in professional finishing and fabrication environments. Built on a durable, tear-resistant film backing with aluminum oxide abrasive grain, this disc roll delivers a consistent, close-tolerance finish pass after pass. The open coat construction reduces loading, keeping the abrasive cutting longer between disc changes. Each roll measures 5 inches in diameter and carries a P400 grit rating, making it well suited for final sanding stages before coating or paint application. Licensed tradespeople and finishing technicians working on tight tolerances will find the roll format a practical time-saver on the shop floor.
This disc roll is intended for fine sanding of plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surface substrates. The Stikit pressure-sensitive adhesive backing attaches quickly to compatible backup pads and releases cleanly without leaving residue, which speeds up disc changes during high-volume finishing runs. The roll format eliminates the need to peel individual disc liners, reducing downtime on production lines and mobile finishing setups alike. Typical applications include bodywork, marine gel coat finishing, cabinet and furniture finishing, and surface prep before clear coat or topcoat application.
Designed for use with Stikit-compatible backup pads and random orbital or orbital sanders accepting 5-inch disc attachments. Best suited for sanding plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surface substrates.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the sander powered off and unplugged or with the air supply disconnected on pneumatic tools. Press the disc firmly onto the backup pad to ensure full adhesive contact before operation. Inspect the backup pad surface for contamination or damage before attaching a new disc, as debris between the pad and disc can cause uneven cutting or premature disc failure. Follow applicable workplace safety guidelines for abrasive tool use, including appropriate eye and respiratory protection when sanding plastics or coated surfaces.
