The 3M 7000133822 Ultra Fast Anchor is a strap-based mechanical fastener designed to mount 3M Fire Barrier Plastic Pipe Devices and Ultra Plastic Pipe Devices in floor and wall assemblies. Each anchor eliminates the need for power tools, mounting screws, washers, and other hardware. Installation requires only pliers and takes approximately one minute per anchor. Each unit weighs 0.04 pounds. These anchors are sold individually and are intended for use by fire-stop installers, journeyman plumbers, and mechanical contractors working on through-penetration firestop assemblies in concrete or gypsum construction.
These anchors are suited for residential and commercial construction applications where fire barrier pipe devices must be secured to concrete or gypsum floor and wall assemblies. Each anchor supports use in up to 12 concrete assemblies or 12 gypsum assemblies. In installations where clearance is insufficient to accommodate the strap mechanism, conventional anchoring methods such as toggle screws for gypsum or masonry screws for concrete may be substituted. This product is sold in a minimum quantity of 400 units per order.
Designed for use with 3M Fire Barrier Plastic Pipe Devices and 3M Ultra Plastic Pipe Devices installed in concrete or gypsum floor and wall through-penetration assemblies. Where installation space is insufficient, the pipe device may be mounted using conventional anchoring systems such as toggle screws for gypsum or masonry screws for concrete.
Installation is performed by fire-stop or mechanical trade professionals in accordance with applicable building and fire codes. No power tools are required; standard pliers are the only tool needed. Before installing or servicing any fire-barrier penetration assembly, verify the surrounding structure is ready for penetration sealing per the authority having jurisdiction. In confined spaces where the strap anchor cannot be fully actuated, switch to a code-approved conventional fastener method as noted in the product documentation.
