The 3M 7000133616 is an adhesive-lined, thin-wall heat shrink tubing rated under the EPS300 product line, designed for environmental protection and electrical insulation in demanding wire and cable applications. The outer wall is made from flame-retardant, flexible polyolefin that is selectively radiation cross-linked to ensure consistent, controlled shrinkage. The inner layer is a thermoplastic adhesive that flows during heat application to seal the assembly against moisture, contaminants, and mechanical stress. This 48-inch length is suited for bench preparation work and field installation by electricians, automotive technicians, marine service pros, and industrial maintenance trades.
This tubing is used to protect electronic components, twisted pigtail splices, inline wire splices, crimp splices, wire bundles, and wire harness breakouts. It is appropriate for automotive, truck fleet, marine, and industrial applications where environmental sealing is required alongside electrical insulation. The black color and 48-inch cut length make it practical for a wide range of field and shop tasks. It meets application specifications MIL-I-23053/4, Class 3.
Designed for use with electronic components, wire splices, crimp connectors, wire bundles, and harness breakouts in automotive, truck fleet, marine, and industrial applications per MIL-I-23053/4, Class 3 requirements.
Installation is performed by electricians, automotive technicians, or industrial maintenance personnel using a calibrated heat gun. Power down and de-energize all conductors before applying heat shrink tubing over any splice or connection. Apply heat evenly along the length of the tubing to allow the adhesive to flow and the outer wall to shrink uniformly. Avoid open-flame heat sources, as uncontrolled heat can damage the tubing or adjacent insulation.
