The 3M 7000133608 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing from the FP-301 series, supplied as a single 48-inch length in a clear finish with a 3/8-inch recovered diameter. FP-301 tubing is a flexible polyolefin product engineered to deliver a reliable balance of electrical insulation, physical protection, and chemical resistance. It is widely used in industrial and military-grade wiring harness fabrication, terminal insulation, and cable bundling applications. Electricians, aerospace technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals install this tubing wherever a clean, low-profile insulating sleeve is required over wire splices, connectors, and exposed conductors.
This tubing is suited for both light industrial and demanding mil-spec adjacent wiring tasks. The clear jacket allows visual inspection of the underlying connection after shrinking, which is useful during QC checks on assembled harnesses. It is appropriate for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work as well as panel shop fabrication. The 48-inch stick length makes it easy to cut to custom lengths on the bench before installation.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for use with wire splices, terminals, and connector backshells in industrial and mil-spec electrical assemblies where thin-wall polyolefin tubing is specified.
Installation is performed by electricians and wiring technicians using a heat gun or regulated heat source to achieve even shrinkage around the conductor or splice. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying heat shrink over live wiring areas. Avoid open flame as a heat source, which can scorch or unevenly shrink the tubing. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for insulation ratings when selecting heat shrink for a given voltage class.
